Wednesday Evening - Cleaning Time
Sorry - only two updates today, but things are slowing down a bit. Mom had the left chest drain removed today and is still on oral pain medication. They cut back the dosage and she is getting her wits back. She didn't get much sleep last night and she was fading fast this evening. She was comfortable being well taken care of, so dad and I left her at about 4:30 and ventured into the Seattle rush hour traffic and the "Kirkland Krawl". I don't think dad is too comfortable with my pilot skills, but I keep telling him "Don't worry, I haven't killed anyone yet". Plus, we get home a lot quicker so we could get the cleaning chores done.
Dad got versed on the pill regimen today. In the short term, mom will have to take more pills than Carter has.... pills. It took a solid hour for the pharmacist to go over it and show him how to stay organized. Dad and I ran into a couple of Moms friends that are also in the transplant program. All are excited for mom.
All signs are good and mom is doing great. I can't say as much for her poor pet fish, He was on a diet for a couple of days as dad and I remembered to feed ourselves, but forgot about the fish. He is doing good now, but he is a bit lighter than when mom went to the hospital.
I am heading home tomorrow, but between dad and me, we will keep everyone updated.
Thanks again for all the support!

Just wanted to let Muffy know that we are thinking of her and thrilled to hear of her fantastic progress. Kurt send his love - he has talked with his sister Staci several times, as she was a transplant co-ordinator for a hospital in Tuscon several years ago, so she is all in the know. Anyway, Staci sends her love too. You're not missing much here in Wyoming, except the Christmas parade last weekend, which was mild and very festive. It is supposed to get really cold this weekend though. That's OK though, as Kurt is being holding down the sofa and taking care of his wild new Chesapeake puppy Moose E Goose!! All for now. We'll be checking back regularly. Thanks Max for setting up this website - what a great idea and a wonderful way to keep up to date. Lots of love - Kurt & Gill. PS Kurt has plenty of Coors on ice for Glenn to celebrate with when he gets back!

OK Kurt, if you can't afford a box of MGD for the big guy, we can send him to dad's house!!
Glad to get a chance to check in, and glad that it is "moving forward". We are thinking of you guys, and sure hoping for the best!!

For a guy who Muffy said would starve to death next to a full refridgerator it sounds like you are becoming quite domestic. Max must be a great trainer! You can probably hire out when as a cleaning lady (?) when you get back here. Tell Muffy she is in our thoughts! Tom is thinking about being a repo man after your email.

Hey, Muff! Glad to hear you're pulling through this and still able to keep Glenn and Max in line. I'm down here in Mexico reading about your great progress and am thrilled that you're up and walking - even if it's just a little. Keep up the good work and I'll be checking in on you. All the best, and much love, Donn

What a wonderful Christmas present! And what a great way to introduce the New Year. You have, and will continue to be in my prayers. Follow the doctors orders and try to keep on track with all those pills. Have a Merry Christmas.

Muffy,
You are amazing! If you have any problems with Glenn let me know. I have enough material on him from days at UW we can get him in line.
We are all looking forward to seeing you in Wyoming again.
Best to you and all for the coming holidays.
Jim & Mary
